Collaboration

The Slovenia Forest Service (SFS) plays a key role in sustainable forest management, collaborating with forest owners, local communities, government agencies, environmental organizations, and research institutions. This cooperation ensures the protection and enhancement of Slovenia’s forest ecosystems, promotes close-to-nature forest management, and supports biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, and climate-responsible practices. These efforts foster ecological balance, economic development, and the well-being of local communities and forest owners, creating a shared vision for forest stewardship.

SFS also actively engages in international collaboration with European and global organizations, addressing environmental and forestry challenges. As part of the EU and UN, it contributes to biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable forestry. By working with neighboring countries and sharing best practices, SFS strengthens global forest preservation and promotes the "Slovenian Forestry School."
